Many progressive companies across North America have committed to growing
their representation of Black professionals, from the entry to executive levels,
however, many do not know how!

YOUR TALENT ACQUISITION STRATEGIES SHOULD INCLUDE:

Building a robust pipeline of Black tech talent
(not waiting until the job requisition opened)

Diversifying your people leader and executive networks

Being apart of the Black tech ecosystem
(Proactively engaging with the BPTN community)

Having foundational knowledge of the experiences of Black Tech/Business professionals in the workplace

These are critical activities that are needed and should be scaled quickly. BPTN can support you to do this. BPTN can also support you with your urgent hiring needs.

Attracting the best Black talent is not the only issue, there’s another side to this Talent pipeline disconnection. BPTN’s 20,000+ members also speak to us everyday about the interview grind (Interviewing while Black), that regardless of their qualifications, they still drop off somewhere through the interview process.

Not having an advocate inside the company, a network, someone pushing you through, is still a massive barrier to entry and promotions. The network gap is still getting in the way of the job offer. At any networking gaps that exist BPTN, with our skilled experts, we can work with you to solve any networking gaps that exist.

BPTN is in a unique position to support companies to meet their hiring and diversity goals, because we are a trusted platform for top Black talent, and an advocate for our members to be in the best position to succeed.

BPTN is leading the charge to change the face of tech and business

CASE STUDY

A high growth tech company was hiring a senior role in their business. The company had this role out in the market for 3 months, but could not find the right candidate. They were not specifically looking for a Black candidate, but any candidate.

They then engaged one of our Senior Recruiters. She conducted an intake meeting to understand the role and the requirements, consulted our member database for qualified candidates who agreed to be contacted for opportunities, and put 4 candidates forward within a few days. These candidates were not actively searching for roles at the time, but they trusted BPTN to put them in the best positions to win in their career

Within 3 weeks, the company made a decision to hire 2 of the 4 candidates BPTN put forward, although they were just looking to fill one role. The top two candidates were too good to leave behind, so the company created space.

BPTN Recruit not only reduced their time to hire, but also helped find top, qualified candidates, who happened to be Black.

As the largest network of Black tech, we bring a unique perspective to the hiring challenge. We do not see a skills issue, we see a network and sponsorship issue. BPTN is excited to continue to be the advocate for Black tech talent, and the support for companies wanting to hire them.
